VVSA is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. We receive no federal, state, nor municipal funding, but rely on our own fundraising efforts, donations and volunteers. Any donation is greatly appreciated (and tax-deductible)!
Your contributions help VVSA continue its legacy of work and action on behalf of animals, and with maintaining the Wildlife Sanctuary at Curtis Farm. VVSA works with VT Licensed Wildlife Rehabbers to safely relocate orphaned raccoons, skunks, beavers, squirrels, rats, mice, opossums (a.k.a. possums), pigeons, etc.

Below are some examples of VVSA success stories.

Howie was found traipsing the aisles in a convenient store just off Howe Hill in Bethel, VT. It was at this same time that Sue Skaskiw stumbled upon the young snapping turtle (only one inch long), unaware as to how he had found his way into the store.  Adam Steinberg, a long time animal advocate, aided in the relocation of Howie to his natural habitat - another rescue in the books!

"The turtle was released on land 12 inches from the water. He immdediately tumbled right towards the pond. When he immersed himself completely, he sort of turned sideways, stopped paddling and looked up at me :)."

Below is the video of Howie's rescue.
